API Limitation
Due to Squarespace's API limitations, articles can be auto-generated but must be published manually. Casper will generate the content, and you can copy it to paste into Squarespace.
Overview
While Squarespace doesn't provide a public API for programmatic publishing, Casper can still help you create SEO-optimized articles. You'll generate articles in Casper and then copy them to your Squarespace blog.
This workflow is still efficient—Casper handles the research, writing, and SEO optimization, leaving you to simply paste the content into Squarespace.
How to Use
Step 1: Generate Your Article
Use Casper to generate an SEO-optimized article as you normally would. Select your keyword, let Casper create the content, and review/edit it in the editor.
Step 2: Copy the Content
Once your article is ready:
- Click the "Copy as" button in the article editor
- Choose your preferred format:
- Rich Text: For pasting directly into Squarespace's editor
- HTML: For more control over formatting
- Markdown: If you prefer markdown format
- Copy the title, content, and meta description
Step 3: Publish in Squarespace
- Log in to your Squarespace admin
- Go to Pages → Blog (or your blog page)
- Click + Add Post
- Paste the title and content
- Add the meta description in the SEO settings
- Add tags/categories as needed
- Set a featured image if you have one
- Publish or schedule the post
Tips for Best Results
Formatting
When pasting into Squarespace, use the "Rich Text" format for best compatibility. Squarespace's editor will preserve most formatting automatically.
Images
Casper can generate articles with images. You'll need to download these images and upload them to Squarespace separately, then insert them into your post.
SEO Settings
Don't forget to add the meta description in Squarespace's SEO settings. This is important for search engine optimization.
URL Slug
Casper generates SEO-friendly slugs. Make sure to use the same slug in Squarespace for consistency.

Will Squarespace add API support in the future?
We're monitoring Squarespace's API development. If they add publishing capabilities, we'll update the integration to support automatic publishing.
Can I still use Casper's content calendar?
Yes! You can schedule articles in Casper's content calendar. When it's time to publish, you'll get a reminder to copy and paste the content into Squarespace.
How long does manual publishing take?
Once you have the content copied, publishing in Squarespace typically takes just 2-3 minutes. The bulk of the work (research, writing, SEO) is already done by Casper.
